Mr. Hanson is a Principal in the Ares Credit Group, where he focuses on the group’s Commercial Finance platform. His experience includes originating, structuring and executing leveraged finance structures for middle market sponsored and non-sponsored transactions, including senior first lien term loans, bifurcated term loans, unitranche facilities, second lien notes, mezzanine debt and equity co-investments. Prior to joining Ares in 2017, Mr. Hanson was a Director at LBC Credit Partners where he was responsible for originating, structuring and negotiating new private investments in the New York and New England marketplaces. Previously, Mr. Hanson was a Senior Vice President of Business Development at the Royal Bank of Scotland, where he was responsible for originating new senior debt transactions related to acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, recapitalizations, refinancings and corporate growth. In addition, Mr. Hanson worked in senior business development roles at Wells Fargo Foothill and GE Commercial Finance. Mr. Hanson holds a B.A. from the University of Colorado with a double major in Eastern and Central European Affairs and History, and an M.B.A. from Wake Forest University’s Babcock Graduate School of Management.
